Kindergarten – Switzerland

Last week I had the fun opportunity of photographing Ian’s Kindergarten class in action. It was one of the most interesting photo sessions I have done for the reason of the language barrier. Those sweet kids didn’t care that I didn’t speak German they still loved me anyways. It was fun to see how some of them were in front of the camera. I had some who posed, some who would turn and pretend they didn’t see me, and some who just let me “click, click” all around them without a care. The best part of it all was the hug I got from one of them before I left. I wish I could show you them but I do not have permission to do so. Enjoy the adorable hats they made.

When cakes go wrong..

When it comes to birthday parties I really like to go all out and make sure everything is perfect but somehow the ideas in my head do not always play out. For my girls’ second birthday we waited a few weeks past so we could celebrate with my family. I traveled to my sister’s home to host the party and make the cake. I always have to make my kids cake from scratch, not because I am a show off (well maybe just a little) but because I like to bake any chance I get. The plan was a pastel colored layer cake from a Martha Stewart recipe. Well I doubled the recipe and tried to make it all in one batch without an electric mixer. My Husband was so kind to help work this horrible recipe. My cake batter turned into pizza dough consistency and my poor husband was trying to beat egg whites by hand. Hours later I had to throw out $20+ worth of cake supplies. Did I cry? You bet! I went to bed planning on buying a store cake in the morning. The next day I woke up to my husband baking a box cake for me. Such a sweetie. He saved me! I was able to decorate and have it ready for the party in the afternoon and my girls had a blast!

Easter With My Family

Time passes by so fast in my home but I enjoy mostly every minute of it. As you know, one of my favorite subjects to photograph is my family. Who doesn’t love to go back and see how they have changed. Here is a little look into my family, and thanks to my Husband, an actual picture of me. Happy Easter.

I am overjoyed about having my first shoot in Switzerland. It feels more and more like home here every week! We were lucky the weather held out, as it tends to rain or be cloudy a lot here in the autumn and winter months. Things could have not gone better. This family was such a natural in front of the camera and they took me to one of the most beautiful spots I have seen in the Zurich area. I just love the autumn leaves! Here is your Sneak Peak!
